Ernest Wendell Peterson, 84, of Wintersville, Ohio has gone on to sing with
the angels “Never Grow Old” in the heavenly choir on October 23, 2019. Ernest was
born on September 20th, 1935 in McIntyre, Ohio to the union of the late
Hattie M. Smith - Peterson and Senator Bruce Peterson as well as paternal
in laws Tom and Christine Harris.
Ernest is proceeded in death by his parents and infant son Ernest Wendell
Peterson Jr. and siblings Norris Stanley, Verta W. Cooper and James M.
Ernest leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 61 years Virginia M.
Peterson. His children, daughters, Lynette Gilliam of Wintersville, Ohio,
Ernestine Mixon of Steubenville, Ohio, Lori A. Devore of Spring, TX and his
son Jonathan E. Peterson of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania., siblings, Tyrone
Brown of Youngstown, Ohio, Martha (Charles) Miller of Lordstown, Ohio,
Linda Hines of Steubenville, Ohio, Twila Porter of Cleveland, Ohio, special
nieces Carrie Anderson and Selina Jones, and Handy Thorn a special
Ernest will always be remembered as a music pioneer, a good father and
husband, and a kind and compassionate soul with a gleaming personality
and sense of humor. Many have known him from playing piano and
singing with his band his trademark songs,” Never Grow Old” and “Jesus
Visitation on Tuesday October 29th
