Evangelist Bessie Mae Blangor, 83, of Steubenville, OH, began her earthly journey on May 10th, 1936. She was born in Ethel, Mississippi to Nolan and Sally Hull Landingham. Early Tuesday morning, God saw his daughter was getting tired and he whispered softly, “Come to me”. She eagerly answered his call and went on to glory.
She received her education from the State of Mississippi School System. Due to her natural ability to provide and care for others, she spent her life being a domestic engineer. The Kegler, Bianco, and Teramana families became very special and dear to her heart. She was so devoted to her job and they enjoyed her much that she worked until her health began to decline.
Evangelist Blangor was a devoted Christian of Pentecostal faith. She spent the majority of her life traveling to and from area churches preaching the word of God. Her devotion to her ministry was impeccable and her faith was unwavering. “Have You Made Reservations?”, was the topic of one of her favorite sermons.
In addition to her love for God, she loved her husband, John Sr, and her family unconditionally. Her and her husband were able to share over 50 years of laughter and love. From this union came 9 beautiful children.
She was proceeded in death her loving husband, John Paul Blangor Sr., her parents, Nolan and Sally Hull Landingham, 3 brothers, Jack, Niles, and Joe Landingham, and 2 sisters, Alma Grace Arterbridge and Nola Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories 2 sons, James Landingham (Kosciusko, MS), and John Blangor Jr. (Verna) (Haverstraw,NY), 4 daughters, Joyce Landingham (Steubenville, OH), Doris Guilford (Wintersville, OH), Wylene Guilford (Llyod) (Columbus, OH), and Joey Blangor (Ashland, OH), 2 sisters, Thelma Bernice Alston (Cleveland,OH), and Betty Jean Landingham (Kosciusko, MS), 5 grandchildren, Tamia Guilford, Mocha Blangor, MaeLynn (John) Lester, LaCeya Lavender, and Myles Thomas-Blangor, 11 great-grandchildren, JaeVonn Crawford, Essence Starr, Kellen Lester, Charles King III, Phoenix Lester, Priya and Priestly Senate, Mariya Basoah, and Johnnie Ray Lester, a special great-granddaughter, Daija James (Steubenville, OH), a special great-grandson, Shaborn Chiles (Wintersville, OH), and 3 special great-great-grandchildren, Jazmin, Jaziyah, and Jayda Montgomery, whom she called “her 3 little women”.
Visitations will be Friday, March 6, 2020 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Vinson Mortuary LLC, 711 North Fifth Street in Steubenville, Ohio and on Saturday, March 7, 2020, from noon to 1:00 pm with a funeral service immediately following at Agape Apostolic Church 525 Slack Street in Steubenville, Ohio. Interment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, Ohio
