Gail C. Johnson-Dixon, 77, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on August 4, 2021, at Weirton Medical Center. She was born on April 1, 1944, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Randall Williams and Annabelle Dortch Otis. She attended Mingo High School, Class of 1963.

She retired as a cook for Riverview Nursing Home.

In 1960, she married Richard Johnson of Steubenville. Out of this union, three children were born: Samra, April, and Richard.

Gail was an original member of the Worse Mess Club and an Auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 274.

She was a dedicated member of Second Baptist Church where she served in the Usher, Flag, Woman's, and Kitchen Ministries.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Richard, one sister: Rose Lee Otis Jones, Brothers: John ‘Sonny” Otis, George Otis White, Ronald Williams, and Richard Williams.

In 2017, she married Chester Dixon.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Chester, Two daughters: Samra (Charles) McCuen, April (Patrick) Latouche, one son: Richard Johnson, Five grandchildren: Chaz, Sharelle, and Shanice McCuen, Asadia and Karon Latouche, and two great-grandchildren: Isabella Alvarado McCuen and Raya Latouche,  cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

 A celebration service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021, at 12:00 pm noon at Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams Street. The viewing will be at 11:00 am. Services entrusted to Vinson’s House of Mortuary.

Due to COVID guidelines the family of Gail Johnson request that facial masks be worn required.
