Lucille Worrels was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 14, 1939, to the late Charles Sr. and Rosalie Mitchell Worrels. Lucille was educated in Steubenville City Schools. “Cil”, lovingly called by her siblings, loved playing cards – ‘Poker and Knock’ and going to Bingo. She was a homemaker and loved raising her children and spoiling her grands and great grands.
Lucille was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church under Pastor James Wooden and a member of the Wooden singers. Even after she lost her sight, she never lost her faith. She would listen to the radio broadcast of Bishop Roy C. Dawkins each Sunday and made prayer requests for her family and friends. She was blessed by the visitation ministry of Minister Maurice Lawson.
Lucille transitioned from this life to eternal life on February 26, 2021, at Carriage Inn Nursing Home in Steubenville, Ohio with her eldest daughter, Gail, by her side. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Henry Williams, Charles Worrels Jr., Alberta Bradley, and Delores Barker, daughter Anna Worrels and grandson Quentin Nelson.
She leaves to cherish her memory; three daughters, Gail Worrels, Fay (Chad) Hunt, and Karla Thomas, all of Steubenville, one son, David Worrels of Capitol Heights, MD, one sister, Anna Lois Murray of Philadelphia, PA, four grandchildren, Justin and Maya Worrels, Joshua and Jasmine Boffman, two great-grandchildren, Brett Tyler and DeAndre Worrels, special nieces Yvette Worrels and Betty Rose Young, nephews Norman and Sammy Scott, her kind and loving friend and neighbor, Shyam Aleti along with many more family, friends and loved ones.
